PRPARI Founding Member
Ivette Solivan was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, and is happily married to Angel Morales. She's the mother of three amazing girls. She obtained a Master's degree in Finance from the University of Puerto Rico.
She's lived in Rhode Island since 2007, where she started her credit counseling company- Future Credit.
She is a businesswoman, Notary Public, Paralegal, Real Estate Agent, member of the Association of Public Notaries, member of the Association of Real Estate Agents of RI, member of the Association of Financial Analysts of the United States, bearer of the 2014 Excellence Award and the 2019 Extraordinary Women Award.
Ivette is proud to be a community leader and defender of human rights.
Vice-President: Shirley X. Moore
Shirley X. Moore is originally from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, but was raised in the Olneyville neighborhood of Providence. She is blessed to be the wife of Ramel Moore and mother of Jordan Moore.
Shirley is Co-Founder of Be Moore Interpreting, LLC; Owner of GoTolk; and Co-Founder of The Rail. She and Ramel are Co-Founders of CrossPoint Providence where they are Pastors. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Human Services and a Masters of Science in Organizational Management and Leadership with a focus on eradicating poverty through entrepreneurship. She has over 20 years of professional experience in human and social services.

Giselle is a native of Ponce, Puerto Rico. The mother of two teenagers, Adrian and Kimberly Nieves. She came to the US in 2001 with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico. She eventually pursued a Master’s Degree in Accounting, with a concentration in Personal Finances from Rhode Island College. And, is currently the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Progreso Latino and Co-Owner of El Grand Salon in Providence.
Within the Puerto Rican Professional Association of Rhode Island, Giselle has proudly held the positions of Community Relations, Treasurer Assistant, Interim Vice-President and Treasurer.
Giselle loves reading books, traveling, and dancing.
Maria "Yisne" Garcia
Maria was born in Cayey, PR, where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Hispanic Studies from the University of PR in Rio Piedras. She worked for the Department of Education and Radians School as a Teacher Assistant.
In November 2006, Maria moved to Rhode Island to work at Future Credit and currently works for Diversified Distribution. Maria is a founding member of PRPARI and has served as the Executive Secretary of Assistant Secretary since then.

Jose Antonio Rodriguez Hernandez is from Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. He's the father of two youngsters, Anthony Morgan and Morgan Javier. Jose settled down in the continental USA due to a 2015 job offer.
Jose holds several college degrees; a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, a B.S. in Real Estate Science from Marylhurst University in Oregon, a Master’s in Business Administration from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, a Master of Science from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctor (Law Degree) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico.
Jose is a registered Licensed Engineer for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the state of Rhode Island. He is currently working as a Sr. Process Engineer for Johnson and Johnson, Medical Device Division in Raynham, Massachusetts. In Puerto Rico, Jose's a member of fraternity Phi Delta Gamma and active member of the College of Engineers and Surveyors of PR.
Jose is very passionate about music; science related topics and loves learning new hands-on skills.

Heriberto "Eric" Gonzalez
PRPARI Founding Member
Heriberto Gonzalez (Eric) born in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. He lived on the Island for 30 years until his move to Boston, MA. He moved to RI in 2006 and lives in Providence RI.
He holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Business from Puerto Rico University. Eric also holds a CPA designation and is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He enjoys coaching families and business owners to balance their life with in their financial goals and lecturing on the protection and growth of their wealth.
Eric joined PRPARI in 2014 and is serving as a Financial Advisor to the Board. He is also a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club where he participates in activities for the conservation and enjoyment of our natural resources.

Joseph M. Maya Rodriguez, MPA is a Data Analyst at the Rhode Island Department of Health. Mr. Maya-Rodriguez works in the developing data analysis and visualization for the Environmental Public Health Tracking Portal.
He has a background in public administration, quantitative and qualitative research and developing data tools. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University, Newark Campus and a Bachelor's of Arts in Political Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus (2016) . He was awarded for his research work in the area of emergency management and minority representation in public administration.
Mr. Carlos Román is from Guánica, Puerto Rico. He possesses an Associate Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems. And, is currently working in the Special Orders Department at the Ocean State Job Lot, Distribution Center. He is an avid reader who loves nature; arts- in general, and has held a few positions within PRPARI which have in many ways, expanded his view of life.

Born in San Juan Puerto Rico, resident of Pawtucket, RI for 8 years. He's the father of Jonathan Llanos. Nestor graduated from EDP University with Bachelor's Degree in Business Administrationand Accounting and Bachelor's Degree in Management. Nestor has a Bookkeeping Accounting Certification from Rhode island College and Entrepreneur Certification from Dorcas International - DIRI.
Nestor is the owner of Believe Photography by NJ. He currently works in Finance for Southcoast Health Group. And, has served as Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer of PRPARI since 2015.
Nestor's favorite verse is "I can do everything in Christ that strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
Jesus Ayala holds a Master's Degree in Public Health Education and a Bachelor's in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. He currently works as a Researcher in Asthma and Sleep projects that seeks to promote healthy habits amongst Hispanic populations. Jesus has been awarded for research efforts in various scientific conferences. An avid defender of Public Health values and all things healthy. Always passionate about Hispanic and minorities equality and social justice topics.
Jose Luis (Chegui) Cabrera was born and raised in Salinas, PR. After being a mental health provider for several years, Chegui obtained a Master's Degree in Social Work from New York University (NYU). Chegui has a long history of working with the community; he started his career in the US as a Case Manager at The Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) in 1995. Over the next fifteen years, Chegui worked in a variety of community settings in New York, including The Puerto Rican Family Institute, Inc, and Wyckoff High Medical Center. In 2005, Chegui moved to Rhode Island, where he continued his community work at The Providence Center as a Family and Children Therapist. He was there until 2014 when he transferred to Blackstone Valley Community Health Care, where he continues to serve as a therapist.
Von Marie Rodriguez-Guzman, Ph.D.
Von Marie Rodriguez-Guzman, Ph.D. holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Ponce Health Sciences University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez Campus. She is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the states of New York and Rhode Island. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and first post-doctoral experience at the Sunset Terrace Family Health Center at NYU Langone and a research focused fellowship from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Rodriguez-Guzman works on ongoing research examining the ways social context influence post-trauma adjustment in weeks following a traumatic event. Her career has focused in the examination of feasibility of a trauma focused intervention for Latinx children and the characterization of health disparities, the role of acculturation and other cultural influences in Latinx population in the aftermath of a trauma. Recently, she is studying the social media engagement after Hurricane María in Puerto Rico.
Arlene Ayala, M.Ed., CPLC
Arlene Ayala, M.Ed., CPLC holds a masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College. Her masters thesis research focused on the alcohol consumption of Puerto Ricans in the mainland and in the United States as it relates to nostalgia and isolation from their cultural norms. She has experience in research from Brown University and Harvard University where she assisted in various studies focusing on physical and mental health behaviors of Latinos in Rhode Island. She is certified as a Professional Life Coach, Neuro Linguistics Programming Practitioner and Mindfulness Coaching.
Arlene teaches an Acculturative Personal Growth class and provides social-emotional support services to newcomer Latino students in the City of Boston.
She utilizes her advanced degree and years of experience in her online private practice where she specializes in powerful, evidence-based transformational, positive psychotherapy and life coaching.
